Miraculous Ways of Using Baking Soda and Vinegar

There are two products we usually have in our kitchens but are highly underrated. Their reason to exist is not only for eating purposes but also help you to clean without needing harmful chemicals. Baking soda is a fantastic odour removing the agent. It absorbs the bad odour where ever you put or sprinkle it. Baking soda is also a great helper when it comes to the fight against stubborn stains. White vinegar is a natural disinfectant and can help you to fight back against bacterias. Here is a short list of what you can do with your little helpers.

Bathtub cleaner: You can make your bathtub shine like a diamond again with this easy-to-make recipe. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1 tbsp coarse salt and 1 tbsp dish soap. Apply a thin layer to the area you want to clean and let it sit for ten minutes. Rub with a clean sponge and rinse the area. You can use this recipe for the bathtub, sink and tiles.

Sink de-clogger: Add 1/3 cup of baking soda to your drain and rinse down a generous dose of white vinegar. Follow the routine with boiling water to clear the baking soda from the pipes.

Grease and food residue remover: Adding two tbsp baking soda along with your dish soap to your dishwater will make the food remains and grease to dissolve easily.

Coffee stain remover: Don’t be upset when your favourite coffee mug has been covered with coffee stains which can’t be wash away with liquid dishwasher detergent. Soak your favourite mug in vinegar for the day.

Oven and stovetop cleaner: If you have been lazy and skipped the cleaning after cooking, don’t worry just sprinkle the baking soda in the bottom of the oven or on the stovetop and dampen the area by spraying a little water on the spot. Leave it overnight, scrub in the morning and clean it with a sponge.

Pet odour remover: You can easily get rid of pet odour by soaking the area in vinegar. Add a few drops of tea tree essential oil to the vinegar soak.

Laundry detergent booster: The baking soda gives the detergent a boost by balancing the pH in the wash to help get your clothes cleaner, brighter and fresher. Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to your laundry to spot the difference.

Carpet renewer: Refresh your carpets spraying them down with white vinegar and dry brush your carpets.

Fridge refresher: If you ever notice your fridge smells a bit off, take everything out and wipe it first. When putting things back in check the expiration date. Finish off by placing an open box of baking soda in it to help eliminate the bad odour.

Hard water stain remover: If you have hard water causing shower head and tap losing their shine vinegar is here to help. Grab a bag and fill it with a cup of vinegar and secure head or tap with an elastic band. Leave it overnight and rinse it with water.

Cutting board deodorizer: One of the best ways to clean wooden cutting boards is to sprinkle the board with the baking soda, scrub it thoroughly and rinse it with water.

You have to clean your wooden cutting board regularly to avoid bacteria.

Smoke smell fighter: Don’t let smoke smell linger in the house. Place an open bowl of white vinegar in the middle of the smoky area for about a day.

Hairbrush cleaner: You should clean your hairbrush regularly to get rid of the hair product residue as well as hair stuck on the brush. Mix two tsp baking soda with one cup of water, rub around your brush and comb, then rinse.

Baking soda and white vinegar make perfect allies when it comes to home cleaning. They are non-toxic, cheap and effective. What else one can ask for?
